In a tiny neighborhood cleaning and pressing shop in the Yorkville district of the city of New York, an attractive, but over-dressed blonde named Stella sat at the counter thumbing through the pages of a magazine. A few steps away, the proprietor of the store, George, labored at a pressing machine trying to finish up his day's work. Stella says "George...George!" He asks "What?" Stella asks "Finished yet?" George says "Not yet, soon". A few seconds later, Stella says "George". He says "For crying out loud, Stella. Will you let me get finished up?" Stella says "You don't seem to realize you got a wife that likes to go out and enjoy herself a little". George says "Go out enjoy yourself. Who cares? Just let me get finished up here, that's all". Stella says "George, give it up, will you? There's at least five or six mobs crying for a guy with your talent". George says "Now, let's not start that again, Stella". She says "Except, in any one of them, you can take over. In one deal you'd make more than you make pressing pants in two years". George says "Can't you get it through your head? There's no such thing as one deal. One deal leads to another and another, until I wake up one day and find myself hooked again. So let me live a little bit". Stella says "Live? You call this living? How long can you exist taking in 20 or 30 dollars a day, especially when you got to support your mother out of it and everything". George says "Look let's not start the arguments about my mother". Stella says "And what about your brother Sonny? Why doesn't he contribute a little bit to her support too?" George says "Don't ask me what Sonny does or what he doesn't do. I only know what I do". Stella says "With Sonny, the dough is rolling in. He's throwing it around like water and you're just struggling along. George, you got a reputation in the rackets. Talk to Sonny. He's always got some deal cooking".
