Insurance Investigator John Rodney, has been hunting for a fugitive named Jim Gary for about five years. He is known to be involved in murder and jewelry theft. Rodney calls his employer, Mr. Adams of the National Insurance Company, regularly, reporting on his status in the ongoing search. Rodney is making a call. Adams picks up the phone and says "Adams speaking". Rodney says "Mr. Adams, this is John Rodney". Adams says "Oh, hello Rodney. Where are you calling from?" Rodney says "Terre Haute this time, but I got here too late. Jim Gary worked here all right, but that was three years ago". Adams says "Oh, too bad. Any idea where he went?" Rodney says "It seems he went from here to Birmingham. He must have still had the jewels with him. They never turned up here. I'll phone you again". A few days later, Rodney says "Hello, Mr. Adams, this is Rodney from Birmingham". Adams asks "Any luck?" Rodney says "Well, he's not in Birmingham, but he was six months ago. It seems he was mixed up on a shooting here similar to the killing in Omaha six years ago". Adams asks "Well, where to now, or are you giving up?" Rodney says "I'm never gonna give up, Mr. Adams. I'll find him". Adams asks "How will you know when you do? You don't have a positive identification". Rodney says "Well, I may get it. I just found out that he has a grandmother in Greensboro. If she's still alive, maybe she can tell me something about him. I'll phone you again from there". A few days later, Rodney calls and says "Hello, Mr. Adams, this is Rodney in Greensboro". Adams says "Oh, hello Rodney. Did you find Jim Gary's grandmother?" Rodney says "Yeah, I found her all right but she couldn't tell me much about him. She's old, very feeble, and practically can't see". Adams says "I hope you didn't tell her that her grandson is a wanted fugitive". Rodney says "No, I couldn't. I said I was an old school friend of his. And, we got a break Mr. Adams. She gave me a picture of him". Adams says "A picture! That's the one thing we needed all these years. Good work Rodney". He says "Thanks, but that isn't all. She says the last time she heard about him, he was in New York. And she thinks he is still there".
