Welcome to Episode 18 of the Multiracialverse Podcast, where we explore the busy intersections of identity, culture, and personal growth. In today’s episode, we’re excited to kick off our inaugural segment of Reclaim Your Name, a powerful exploration of the significance and meaning behind the names that shape who we are.

We believe, honoring someone's name is more than a formality—it's a way of recognizing their identity, heritage, and story. A name carries history, connection, and pride, and when we honor it, we validate someone's place in the world and their right to exist fully and authentically.

In this episode, we sit down with Sanaz Soltani, a first-generation American Iranian who grew up in Southern California. Sanaz has spent over 10 years in healthcare administration and is a passionate advocate for health and wellness. She recently became a first-time published author of the children’s book Auntie’s Little Bestie, now available on Amazon. But today, she shares something deeply personal—how her relationship with her name has evolved. After years of being bullied for her name, allowing people to mispronounce it, and shying away from things she loved because of the teasing, Sanaz has found pride and strength in reclaiming her name. Join us as she tells her story of self-esteem, cultural pride, and the journey to embracing her full identity.
