Boundaries - so simple to say, yet so messy to live out. In this episode of Mucked Up My Self-Care, Jill and Linda dive deep into the highs and lows of motherhood, illness, family dynamics, and the complicated art of boundary setting. From sick kids and shifting routines to navigating boundaries with toddlers, teens, and even extended family, this conversation gets real about how boundaries and self-care overlap, clash, and sometimes crumble.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • How illness at home can throw boundaries out the window, and where new ones suddenly appear
  • Why boundaries with kids of different ages can be tricky to balance
  • The tension between self-care and parenting responsibilities (and why “just read a book” isn’t always that easy)
  • How to separate your energy from your child’s big emotions
  • Why boundary-setting is both a form of self-care and a setup for self-care
  • The ongoing process of unlearning unhealthy boundaries while teaching healthier ones

Boundaries are rarely neat, but they are necessary. Whether it’s saying no to family expectations, holding space for a crying toddler, or giving yourself permission to step away and breathe, boundary-setting is both self-care in itself and the pathway toward it. Join Jill and Linda as they remind you that boundaries aren’t about perfection, they’re about protecting your peace, even when it feels messy.

Until next week, we hope you can unstuck your muck! 💛
