Here we will hear real people, Australians and occasionally others round the world speaking on Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
---
This podcast began with Colleen's hope of building greater understanding of what is involved in the HSCT procedure, through the sharing of stories of Australian people living with MS who had undergone HSCT.
That initial focus will expand to include discussions on a variety of issues relevant to Australians living with MS, such as symptoms, medications, and therapies.
Through sharing we support one another, reduce the isolation of living with Multiple Sclerosis, and foster a sense of community while raising awareness of the impact of this progressive disease on those living with it.
---
The beginning series focuses on the choice of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) - the variety of challenges faced, and individual outcomes of that procedure.
"MSMS: The Many Stories of Multiple Sclerosis" podcast's first episode follows your host Colleen and her husband Kel's unique journey through HSCT, a choice Colleen made when she found herself rapidly losing the ability to walk.
Married just over five years, Colleen and Kel travelled to Moscow Russia on a mission to stop the progress of Colleen's MS.
You'll hear of the unexpected obstacles they faced, one after the other, Colleen as patient and Kel her champion.
Surviving an experience that could not have been expected nor could have been prepared for, Colleen and Kel have shared their story in Australian newspapers, radio and television and here in this podcast episode tell more of their incredible story.
