Jacksonville’s resident trash collection fee hasn’t increased in nearly 15 years.
As a result the only way to meet the ever increasing service costs is to continue borrowing the deficit from the general fund.
Councilman Matt Carlucci has filed a bill to increase the fees for the service. Raising fees and taxes, however, is never easy and his challenge is even more difficult with the conservative mindset of the City Council.
Join the Mikes this week with their guest Councilman Carlucci as they discuss the issue and possible ways to overcome the deficit in solid waste collection.
