This is a small and powerful hymn of sun god from Samba purana. This hymn was sung by Samba the son of lord Krishna. This is the best prayer for health and destruction of sins.
This is found in the Samba Purana, one of the upa puranas establishes sun god as the supreme reality (para brahman) there are many mystical chants in that purana text of sun god. This is one of the popular hymns from that purana which is highly revered in saura tradition (tradition of worshiping sun god as the supreme absolute god - supreme Reality)
By chanting this hymn with devotion, the devotees are delivered from sins and diseases by the grace of Surya Narayana.
