Matthew Lesson 40: Heart of a Harvester
Manage episode 520501993 series 3671818
Matthew 9:18-38 is the text for this sermon entitled, "Heart of a Harvester."
John 16:33, ““I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Jesus’ focus of ministry was on those for whom the world seems to have overcome them!
Curtis reviews the final chapter of Matthew 9 (verses 35-38) and then backs up to explore the four "case studies" Matthew recorded. These four miracles show Jesus' method of "harvesting the lost" in action. The case studies are 1) synagogue leader's dead daughter, 2) a woman with a bleeding disorder, 3) demon-possessed man who was deaf and mute, and 4) the two blind men.
The simplest and most powerful form of ministry is encouragement! Barnabas stood out in early church as the encourager (Acts 4:36). Now today, the challenge for each of us is to be an encourager and a harvest worker for the Lord!
