Welcome foolish mortals, as we uncover the history of a dearly beloved ride: the Haunted Mansion. During the first segment of this two-part episode, we discuss the team of creative geniuses behind it's development, the inspiration taken from the Winchester Mystery Mansion and the initial story lines developed to create this otherworldly attraction. A highly anticipated attraction, with advertising for happy haunt recruitment, Haunted Mansion opened first in Disneyland in 1969 and was an instant success.

Forwarning for our littler haunt ears, this episode does explore the darker themes that were first considered for the ride, which contains more morbid storylines.
