In this exercise, you'll work directly with the shadow - a key concept in Jungian psychology. As James Hollis defines it, the shadow is "that which is difficult to confront in ourselves." This includes any parts of our minds that we don't like, deny, or push away - behaviours, traits, and clusters of psychic content we'd rather not face.

Using a recent situation where you felt indignant or experienced injustice as a starting point, you'll meet in symbolic form the part of yourself that's difficult to confront. Through guided visualisation, you'll enter a liminal space where shadow material can emerge and be engaged with directly.

This exercise uses Active Imagination, a technique developed by Carl Jung for engaging directly with unconscious contents, facilitating genuine psychological transformation.
