The MacAdmins Community has a long, vibrant history of solving problems together usually through open source projects that become essential tools in our workflows. Whatever challenge you’re facing, chances are there’s already a project, or a group of passionate people, tackling something similar.

But with so many options, the path forward isn’t always clear. Do you adopt an existing open source tool? Invest in a polished, commercial solution? Or roll up your sleeves and build something totally new?

Today we’re diving into one admins journey into this struggle, and their path as they decided to build their own solutions for automating application and software patching in their organization.
