The Cincinnati Reds fell 4-1 to the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday night at Great American Ball Park, undone by a disastrous 8th inning. Two costly defensive miscues by Gavin Lux opened the door for Philadelphia before Kyle Schwarber delivered what felt like the most predictable home run of the Reds’ 2025 season. Despite his struggles in the field, Lux was the lone bright spot at the plate, collecting three hits and driving in the Reds’ only run in the 1st inning. The loss dampens momentum as Cincinnati continues their homestand against a tough Phillies club.
