The Cincinnati Reds were swept by the Athletics after falling 7-4 on Sunday in Sacramento. Cincinnati jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, but the Athletics’ power bats took control from there and never looked back. The Reds, who came into the weekend with a chance to climb in the Wild Card race, instead leave Sacramento sitting 2.5 games back. They now turn their attention to divisional play, beginning a three-game series in St. Louis against the Cardinals.
