With the victory and the New York Mets’ loss to the Miami Marlins, the Reds now control their own destiny for the final NL Wildcard spot. Gavin Lux sparked the offense with two hits and two runs scored, while Connor Phillips delivered an electric 1.1 innings of relief with three strikeouts. The Reds are now just one win and one Mets loss away from officially punching their ticket to the 2025 MLB Postseason.
