One bad inning and a lack of urgency sunk the New York Mets in their opener down in Miami against the Marlins, 6-2.

Brandon Sproat was cruising through his first four innings of work, but hit a wall in the 5th and that's where things all started to come crumbling down for the Mets. Some hard hit balls and some bad defense allowed the Marlins to put up a six spot and go in front for good.

In the 8th inning the Mets did get the bases loaded and got the tying run to the plate in the form of Mark Vientos, but were unable to make anything happen.

It's now chaos mode for the Mets. Clay Holmes will start tomorrow and other than that, nothing is certain.
