It's fitting that while in Hollywood, the New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers played out a sequel tonight. This time, however, it was the Dodgers picking up the victory 6-5.
For the second straight night, the Mets carried a one-run lead into the 9th inning and for the second straight night, they gave up that one-run lead. Unlike last night, the Mets despite sending Juan Soto, Pete Alonso and Brandon Nimmo to the plate, were unable to get a run across.
Tylor Megill got the start for New York and it was a rough start, but a better finish. Megill allowed four runs in the bottom of the 1st but settled down after that and was able to give the Mets some much needed length.
The Mets will look to dust themselves off and rebound tomorrow night, with Griffin Canning taking the mound.
