Living Without Fear - The Day My Father Changed Again | With Esther Buerki
Manage episode 509856667 series 3242805
In this episode, I share a deeply personal story about my father. After my mother passed away earlier this year, he became bitter, negative, and often unkind to me. People told me it was dementia, that there was no hope for change. For weeks, I called and visited him, but each encounter left me heartbroken.
And then, something shifted. As we carried his books into the elderly home, I discovered how much we shared — the love of art, languages, and philosophy. Soon, my father began reading again. Slowly, he grew sharper, kinder, and more joyful.
In this episode, I talk about how books helped bring my father back to life, how our relationship transformed once more, and why I now believe: it is never too late to hope. Even when everything looks lost, change is always possible.
P.S. If you’re navigating your own family challenges and long for guidance, I’m here. I offer one-on-one sessions where I support you with tools and presence to help you move forward with more lightness and hope.
