In today’s message, we’re diving into James 2:1–13, where James—led by the Holy Spirit—confronts a serious issue in the early Church: the sin of partiality. And this message is just as relevant now as it was then. Partiality means showing favoritism—treating people differently based on appearance, status, or wealth. James is clear: this behavior directly opposes the love of Christ. Jesus came to break down barriers, not build them. His gospel is for everyone—regardless of background, power, or position. When we show favoritism, we ignore God’s heart. We elevate ourselves instead of humbling ourselves before Him. As followers of Christ, we’re called to love our neighbors without bias, and to show mercy—just as we’ve received mercy from God. The truth is, we can’t follow Jesus while clinging to favoritism, division, or discrimination. So today, let’s open our hearts to God’s Word. How can we better love those around us—with mercy, without judgment, and without partiality? Stay with us as we explore this convicting and grace-filled passage in the book of James.
