Welcome to a special bonus episode of The Insight Track with Luca Allam! In this 'Off Track' edition, I talk about the dangers of how we all use and rely on titles to describe ourselves in our everyday lives, how restricting titles can be, and ultimately how they don’t do enough to celebrate our individuality. In this episode, I talk openly about how we tend to ‘hide’ behind our job titles when asked questions about who we are, rather than talk about our experiences, expertise, and what makes us different. Conforming remains the antithesis of authenticity, yet too many of us rely on a safe and secure response to the question ‘What do you do’. Usually in the form of answering the question with a singular title in a specific industry. The reality is that our answers project who we are, and provide an insight into how we see ourselves. All of us, myself included, need to do a much better job to not be positioned and labeled under a title, or even titles, but rather allow ourselves an opportunity to shine, to talk with confidence in who we are, and to be your natural brilliant self when given the opportunity. Both yourself and maybe even the person asking the question will benefit from this authentic confidence. In this unfiltered, improvised, and off-scripted episode, I share my personal insights that have and continue to shape who I am.
