As Australia marches towards banning under 16s from social media, it's worth remembering that this idea didn't start in Parliament.

It started as an online petition. Supported by regular people, calling for change.

The digital world has supercharged petitions. For a long time signing an online petition was seen as the slackest form of activism, but with so many examples of real world results, is that still the case?
