Luke chapter 3 begins with John the Baptist preaching in the wilderness, calling people to repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins. He fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah, preparing the way for the coming Messiah. Crowds come to him, and he challenges them to produce real change in their lives, warning of judgment and teaching about justice and generosity. John also speaks boldly against Herod’s immoral actions, which leads to his imprisonment. The chapter ends with Jesus being baptized and a genealogy tracing His lineage all the way back to Adam, emphasizing His divine and human identity.
