Each year, Martin hosts Future Port Youth, an event for students and schools that focuses on the challenges and prospects of the future. Martin himself is a computer engineer by trade with a special interest in how humans engage with technology as part of development. As an entrepreneur, he has founded Future Port, an IT Services firm, and a virtual reality company as well. This week, he explains what he has learned teaching youth and organizations with (and about!) cutting edge technology.
- Why it’s more important for youth to focus on key skill development than on learning a specific role
- How the modern flow of information forces children to learn decision-making differently from prior generations
- How future generations will experience and pursue entrepreneurship
- The potential of Virtual Reality to achieve mainstream adoption and impact learning
- Why it may be more effective to prioritize fun experimentation when considering whether to adopt new tech at work
