Authorities in Cape May are searching for a swimmer they say went missing early Thursday morning. In a social media post, city emergency officials said police, fire and beach patrol are out near Madison and Beach avenues. Cape May Fire Chief Alex Coulter told our partners at NBC10 that the missing swimmer was described as a dark-haired woman, likely in her 30s. Authorities say state police and the Coast Guard have also joined in the search. The Cape May Beach Patrol has issued a double red flag warning until further notice.
