Today, as most of the country is in the grip of a heatwave, climate scientists are continuing to work on forecasting models to determine just how hot it can get. Their work comes following an extreme heat spike and wildfire in Lytton, British Columbia in June of 2021 that claimed at least 1,400 lives.
