His journey took a profound turn while working on human rights initiatives at the United Nations, especially in the fight against apartheid in South Africa. That experience drove him to leave the Foreign Service and dedicate himself to inspiring others to create positive change. For the past forty years, John has been a catalyst for social, political, and environmental progress, not only through the Giraffe Heroes Project but also as an author, speaker, and peace-builder worldwide—from Cambodia to the Middle East.
