In this bonus mini-episode, I celebrated being cleared to drive again post brain surgery by treating myself to a $5 Tuesday showing of Him. There were only three of us in the theater, and honestly, I can see why. The movie was a strange, muddled football-horror mashup that never quite came together.

I talk about why it didn’t work for me—the random football scenes, the lack of story until the final act, and the lead’s tiny little brain scar (which I couldn’t help comparing to my own 12-inch post-surgery horseshoe MONSTER scar). I also riff a bit on why Jordan Peele’s producer credit isn't nearly the same as having him in the director’s chair, and what horror movies I’m actually looking forward to, like the upcoming Good Boy.

If you’re a horror freak or just a movie weirdo like me, you might still get a kick out of Him. For most people, though, I probably wouldn’t recommend it. Still, I love going to the movies—even for the weird ones—and I’ll keep doing these little reviews because it’s fun to share what I see.

Overall, I rate HIM as one out of three 2-point conversions.
