The green dream is a myth when the grid can’t even keep the lights on. Politicians keep promising a fossil-free future, but without infrastructure, everyday families are left with blackouts, skyrocketing bills, and EVs they can’t afford to charge. As David and Stuart argue, the push for “100% green” ignores the mining, foreign dependence, and trillions in costs required to make it happen. Until leaders invest in real solutions—like nuclear or serious grid expansion—the chant of “drill, baby, drill” may be the only reality check we’ve got.
