In 2015, the story of Tabby’s Star, named after discoverer Dr. Tabetha Boyajian, captivated the science news cycle for months with one idea being that the dimming and dipping of the star could be be of an alien civilization building a dyson sphere or constructing a dyson swarm.Up until recently, Tabby's star was so far the only known star to show such unusual slow dimming.Dr. Edward Schmidt is a professor emeritus at the University Nebraska-Lincoln having taught physics and astronomy for over 40 years.
