Microsoft may well be the big winner when all is said and done about the AI race. Its recent renewed cooperation and stake in Open AI ensures it is embedded in the current trajectory of the technology, while putting together an actual superintelligence team and roadmap, has all the hallmarks of the intent of domination in an increasingly crowded field. Microsoft wants to be the all to enterprise solutions, likely while maintaining a presence in the consumer market, ultimately to drive consumers who are also professionals into adopting what it has cooking as part of enterprise solutions. While Apple takes a sensible approach when it comes to the consumer market by not investing extremely large sums into data centers and the likes, in favor of working with Google and having Gemini do the heavy lifting. This way, Apple can focus on keeping the narrative for which it is best known for i.e. overseeing and protecting consumers and businesses' privacy, focusing on its core competency and marketing angle. When all is said and done, it could well be that Microsoft and Apple end up splitting the bulk of the AI gravy train pie between the two of them!
