The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. -Nahum 1:7
DEVOTION
Based on Nahum 1
Three truths to anchor any storm: God's character ('good'), God's capability ('stronghold'), God's care ('knoweth them'). Goodness isn't occasional but essential to His nature. A stronghold isn't just protection but a fortress—ancient, unmovable, impenetrable. 'Knoweth' is intimate awareness, not casual acquaintance. In trouble's day, when everything else proves unreliable, God remains good, strong, and aware. He's not just a refuge; He's their refuge.
A.C.T.S. REFLECTION
ADORATION: Good God, You are my fortress when life attacks. You know me personally and protect me powerfully. I worship You, my trustworthy Stronghold.
CONFESSION: I confess running to lesser refuges in my troubles.
THANKSGIVING: Thank You for being unshakably good and strong.
SUPPLICATION: Be my stronghold today in whatever troubles arise.
PRAYER
Your way was through the sea; your paths through the great waters. Your footsteps were not known.

Dear Lord, Your perfect and powerful character is impossible to forget. The evidence of Your goodness surrounds me. I will remember Your faithfulness tonight and meditate on Your goodness before I sleep. As I seek a tranquil reprieve from the day’s toll, I will settle my soul on Your saving grace. Guide me peacefully to sleep tonight as I meditate on Your attributes. Your ways are holy. You are a God of wonders. You have redeemed Your people. Nature bows to You. Nations cannot escape You.
