As the BBC’s China editor, Carrie Gracie clashed with the broadcaster over gender-pay inequality and left her role after learning she was being paid much less than her male counterparts. But she continued to fight and was eventually given an apology and back pay, which she generously donated to the Fawcett Society charity.
