ICE Raid Impacts on AAPI Community
ICE raids and detentions have stricken fear into immigrants and refugees across the country. This enforcement has largely targeted Latinos, but Asian Americans have also been swept up in ongoing federal crackdowns. Local AAPI leaders have reported less visible, smaller raids impacting their community. This week, they hosted a vigil outside the US Citizen and Immigration Services Sacramento Field Office. Sacramento City Councilmember Mai Vang and Nancy Xiong, Executive Director of Hmong Innovating Politics, were part of the vigil. They join us with how the Asian American Pacific Islander community is feeling in this moment of uncertainty.‘As You Like It’
