ICE raids and detentions have stricken fear into immigrants and refugees across the country. This enforcement has largely targeted Latinos, but Asian Americans have also been swept up in ongoing federal crackdowns. Local AAPI leaders have reported less visible, smaller raids impacting their community. This week, they hosted a vigil outside the US Citizen and Immigration Services Sacramento Field Office. Sacramento City Councilmember Mai Vang and Nancy Xiong, Executive Director of Hmong Innovating Politics, were part of the vigil. They join us with how the Asian American Pacific Islander community is feeling in this moment of uncertainty.

Atim Udoffia is the producer behind the As You Like It Project and she also plays the role of Rosalind. She and the play’s director, Chloe Bronzan, talk about what it took to bring the show to life.

Amador County Arts Council

The Amador County Arts Council is instrumental in bringing music, poetry and other cultural events to residents and visitors in the Central Sierra Nevada foothills. This Friday, The Blowbacks will perform as part of the TGIF Free Summer Concert Series in Ione.
