On this episode of “Inside Career Technical Education” podcast, Ann Baldwin and Jim Bologa, Porter and Chester President and CEO, speak with Meri Torres, Dental Assisting Instructor at PCI's Bridgeport campus.
Christmas came early for Meri Torres and her students in the Dental Assisting Program at the Bridgeport, CT campus. All new industry modeled equipment has been installed for the lab portion of student learning.
Meri talks about how her students are not only so excited to have these new learning tools, they are also embracing the flexibility that their blended learning program offers with both online and in-person classes. Part of the curriculum is an externship, where students apply their learning in an actual dentist office.
As a Certified Dental Assistant and a long-time instructor of the program, Meri discusses the many career paths that her students pursue upon graduation from the program and how many of her students go on to continuing education to further their careers.
