Join us in this episode as we take a gander at The Chilean Mine Disaster at the Copiapo mine in 2010, where 33 of the 34 men on shift that day were trapped.

A 770,000 ton chunk of the mountain, sheered off and fell into the mine, completely blocking the access ramp, leaving them no chance of escape.

There's lots of human ingenuity on display here, that should rightfully be admired and some not-so-bright decisisions that deserve much derision, but we'll leave that to up to you.

Tune in and listen to part 1 of a two-part series about the heroic rescue of thirty-three miners trapped half-a-mile beneath the surface of the Earth, in one of the harshest environments on the planet.

This is a story of an amazing group of people surviving against the odds and an equally amazing group of people coming together to rescue them, against ALL odds.
