In 1946, Calgary was a small budding city which had an already established and renowned zoo located on St. George’s Island, along the bank of the Bow River. To get there you have to cross the Zoo Bridge.

Which is what six-year-old Donnie Goss and his brother did in August of that year. Then he vanished.
