Hi everyone,

Please welcome with me Jennifer Bowers alias Shea Love from the US. The first episode of her own podcast called "Being: from Atlanta to Auckland", has recently dropped and describes parts of her journey of moving countries. Now, she is navigating her new life and is sharing her experience with us.

In this inspiring episode, Jennifer shares the story of how she went from feeling stuck in the U.S. to boldly starting over in New Zealand — one small step at a time.

It all began with “growth hour” meetings every Monday at 9am with her cousin, where they committed to taking one bold action each week. From booking a ticket to New Zealand to embracing the unknown, Jennifer shows how breaking big goals down into manageable steps makes real change possible.

She also reflects on making the decision to move abroad while her kids stayed behind — and how, rather than creating distance, it’s helped her nurture a different kind of connection with them. Jennifer shares her hope of giving her children a second home in the world, and why it’s so important not to stay too comfortable in one place if it means missing out on growth.

We also talk about “the ugly truth” of moving abroad — the very real feeling of distance, the loneliness that can creep in, and the challenge of sticking it out when everything is unfamiliar. But on the flip side, Jennifer opens up about the beauty of starting fresh, connecting with new people, and building a new community from the ground up.

Plus: a lighthearted look at dating in New Zealand vs. the U.S. (hint: casual coffee walks over dinner dates 😉).

If you’ve ever dreamed of shaking up your life but felt overwhelmed by where to begin — this episode will move you, motivate you, and remind you that everything big starts small.

Thank you so much for being here, I appreciate every single one of you!
Love,
Hanna
