John 1:8 KJV John the Baptist was sent to the earth because God the Father had a message to deliver to mankind. Thus, the message was the purpose for the conception and birth of John the Baptist. This message was delivered to Zachariah by the angel Gabriel (Luke 1:17). The message gave birth to the messenger. So, a messenger cannot have a message of his own except and only that which was given to him. Otherwise, one disqualifies himself as a messenger of Christ. The desire to make the message given to you your own or alter it is an act of pride.
