Some wild and improbable conspiracy theories are floating around. Ironically, there are now libertarians, known for their mistrust of the State, who are now shaming others for their skepticism! But does the expansion of conspiracy theories tell us something more about our social environment? And should we automatically reject these "theories?" From the shadowy revelations of the Church Committee to modern controversies, in mere minutes, we dissect how mistrust in official narratives has historical roots. Most important of all, we examine how fostering trust can lead to increased social harmony and reduce the proliferation of conspiracy theories.
