In this episode of Global Economic Press, Alex Brady discusses a significant development in Pennsylvania's energy sector. The Laborers' International Union of North America, through Local 413, has announced a critical Memorandum of Understanding with the Eddystone Marine and Rail Terminal Company. This agreement ensures that the upcoming Project Phoenix expansion will be built by Pennsylvania's skilled union workforce. The project, supported by a five million dollar Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Rail Transportation Assistance Grant, aims to expand fuel production by more than 25 percent, improve energy reliability, and reinforce the region's economic foundation. The Laborers' International Union of North America is the first skilled trade union to sign this important agreement.

James Harper, Junior, Business Manager of the Laborers' International Union of North America Local 413, emphasized the importance of keeping opportunities in the hands of Pennsylvania's local workers. The Eddystone Marine and Rail Terminal, located in Delaware County, has invested over 185 million dollars in energy infrastructure, playing a crucial role in connecting Pennsylvania's production with the East Coast's transportation and manufacturing sectors.
