Not gonna lie, this one burned us.
We're joined by first-time-guest of the pod Mike Lacy to talk about 1991's Backdraft, a William Baldwin pryo-vehicle that is so in love with Kurt Russell, they cast him in it twice. Join us as we talk about the two films - the cliche-ridden brotherly drama about a family of firefighting, and the thrilling detective story where Robert Deniro and Alec Baldwin's brother hunt down a vicious arsonist hellbent on 'backdrafting' his victims. Join us as we talk about fireman axe duels, Robert Deniro's scorched back (and self-healing gate wound), the horror that the opening scene inflicted on Frank, how only 2 of the 3 people have seen Apollo 13, and what, exactly, even is a backdraft.
Mike Lacy is the co-creator of whoisamericasdaddy.com and co-hosts a weekly quiz show called Quiz Prison, available on Twitch at twitch.tv/quiz_prison. Follow him on IG at @jonclaudevanhamm.
As always we're Give it 5. Follow us on Instagram at @giveit5 and Twitter at @giveit5podcast.com. Got a movie you want to talk about that nobody's talking about? Hit us up.
