Manage episode 311668550 series 3164552
Bosnia and Herzegovina is well-known for its rich natural resources, but also human potential. It is so common to hear in the news that young Bosnian-Herzegovinian talents won Math and Physics Olympic medals, who later land at top world universities.
Is it luck, hard work or raw talent? Haris Brkic is a Math olympian who shared his experience with us and his path to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
MIT has a 10% acceptance rate and has educated almost 100 Nobel Laureates, which would discourage many from even applying. Haris Brkic was encouraged by his father to try it and was admitted, graduating among the top 3% of his class. He is pursuing his master's degree and shared a little about his busy life at campus, the interdisciplinarity, and labs to help other young talents with big dreams.
