Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. For the Greater Groove: The Future of Strings is a collection of chats/jams with some of the leaders in the progressive string playing community. The focus is on grooving and playing rhythm strings, like rhythm guitar. Grooving is the crucial entry point into our popular musical culture and something virtually ignored in traditional classical training.
