GenCon Recap: New Games, New Friends, and Chaos at the Table

Welcome back to the table! Jess and Tori are both on the mic this episode, and Malcolm and Arcadia share a wrap-up of GenCon 2025, where they represented our crew. From discovering new games to meeting new friends, this year’s convention brought some fresh experiences.

Jess kicks things off with a lesson in orderly queuing, proving that some skills from overseas don’t always translate to the States. Last year’s 50th anniversary for D&D packed the convention to the rafters, but this year allowed for a slightly more manageable and engaging experience.

The team dives into the games they scored at GenCon, highlighting what they’re excited to test at the table next. They also discuss what they’re looking forward to for next year, including games that may not have been on their radar before.

Shout-outs go to Oddfish Games and the Epic Adventure Podcast for their incredible work, and the crew got to meet some of the team at Darrington Press (insert fan-girl/fan-boy squee here!). Upcoming test plays include Call of Cthulhu and Dungeon Crawl Classics, adding even more excitement to the queue.
