On January 13, 1996, nine-year-old Amber Hagerman was riding her pink bicycle near her grandparents’ home in Arlington, Texas, when a man in a black pickup truck abducted her in broad daylight. Four days later, Amber’s body was discovered in a nearby creek. Despite a massive investigation and thousands of tips, her killer has never been found.

Amber’s tragic murder led to the creation of the nationwide AMBER Alert system, which has since saved more than a thousand abducted children. But nearly three decades later, the man who took Amber remains unknown.
