60. Rethinking Masculinity: Beyond Binaries and Stereotypes - With Daniel Ellenberg
Manage episode 508348256 series 3602749
I spoke with Dr. Daniel Ellenberg, past president of the APA Division on Men and Masculinities, about the challenges men face today. We explored how masculinity is often boxed in by stereotypes and cultural expectations, and what it means to live with more range, compassion, and authenticity.
Daniel and I talked about vulnerability, the pressures of performance, and the impact of the “man box” on boys and men. We also dug into the gender wars, how compassion for men is often overlooked, and why rethinking masculinity matters for healthier lives and relationships.
This conversation is for anyone curious about what masculinity could look like beyond the old clichés.
