F1 Full Race Audio coverage for the British GP 1999 with ITV Commentary!
In an already, somewhat chaotic & Unpredictable 1999 continued with one of the surprises of the season.
One of the biggest shunts of the year would happen to one of the title contenders and rule him out of racing for a few months.
Amazingly, the red flag you will here in lap one only came about because Race Director Charlie Whiting accidentally hit the red flag button instead of the pit exit open button. That is why the chaos ensued and a championship fight would go elsewhere.
This, amazingly, would be Toranosuke Takagi's final classified Formula One race finish. He failed to finish each of his subsequent eight races.
Also, Damon Hill who planned on retiring earlier than the end of the season, decided to stick around until the end.
