I was privileged to engage in a stimulating and thought-provoking conversation with Jon Fleming on Expert Views on ADR (EVA) Vid/Podcast Show. He is a workplace policy specialist and union relations and grievance management expert.

He wears many hats, so I have left the link to his profile: https://ca.linkedin.com/in/jon-fleming.In this series, Jon shared valuable insights on how organisations / higher institutions can create a culture of inclusion and diversity that empowers employees to report instances of bullying, discrimination and harassment.

We analysed the efficacy of Appropriate/Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in combating workplace bullying, discrimination, and harassment while examining the most suitable processes for safeguarding employees from such offences.

We revealed the laws /employers’ legal obligations that are in place to prevent and address such behaviours while examining the encouragement of reporting and resolving such incidents through ADR.

Furthermore, we highlighted the common obstacles that impede employees from reporting, such as fear of retaliation from the organisation or employer.

Finally, Jon shared his personal experience with bullying, discrimination, and harassment, shedding light on cultural nuances that aid and abet these issues. ****If you have experienced workplace bullying, discrimination and harassment, do not stay silent. Connect with me on #LinkedIn and share your story via DM. Together, we can bring awareness to these issues and work towards creating a more equitable and respectful workplace for all via ADR.
