Many Christians get hit with that. Not because they don’t believe the Bible, but because they haven’t been shown how to respond.

What’s Really Going On

Within the bible vs. science.
It’s interpretations of science vs. the literal account of Genesis.

Science doesn’t speak—scientists do, through models and assumptions. And those assumptions are often naturalistic, excluding God before data even enters the room.

So the question isn’t “Which facts win?”
It’s “Which worldview explains the facts faithfully?”

Even scientist acknowledge that science itself is evolving.

Why It Matters

“If Adam and Eve aren’t real…
then there was no real Fall…
and if there was no Fall, why did Jesus die?”

Genesis is not an isolated poem—it’s the foundation of the gospel timeline.
Jesus and Paul both treat it as real history (Luke 11:50-51, Romans 5, 1 Cor. 15).

Examples & Pushback

Let’s hit the big claims you’ll actually hear:

“Radiometric dating proves an old earth.”

• Assumes decay rates stayed constant over unobservable time.
• Catastrophic events (like Mt. St. Helens) show how much models can shift.
• It’s based on assumptions, not direct observation.
• And Jesus treated Genesis as real history.

“Fossils show millions of years.”

• But rapid events like Mt. St. Helens formed layers in days, not ages.
• The idea of slow layering falls apart under real-time catastrophes.

“Adam and Eve couldn’t be literal—it’s genetically impossible.”

• Evolutionary models start with... evolution.
• But recent research (e.g. Gauger & Hössjer) shows it's possible—and Scripture says it's essential.
