The central moment came in the Hall of Two Truths, where Anubis weighed the heart of the deceased against the feather of Ma’at, symbol of truth and justice. If the heart was light, the soul was justified and entered Aaru, the Field of Reeds — a paradise mirroring the fertile Nile Valley. But if heavy with sin, it was devoured by Ammit, leading to total annihilation.
