Kristy Johnson: Widowed, Healing, and Helping Others Forward

On this episode of the Make Mental Health Matter Show with host Kelli Melissa Reinhardt, with special guest Kristy Johnson.

Little bit about Kristy’s story from her:

I became a solo parent (widow) with two small children, due to my late husband's addiction with alcohol. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) from the state of Texas and have worked in different settings, including substance use. As a widow and licensed therapist, I have made it my mission to be the therapist that widows/widowers with small kids in tow, can turn to, to honor their grief, process emotions, and develop a blueprint for their new normal.

Short bio:

Kristy Johnson is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) located in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, but provides telehealth services throughout the state of Texas. She received her Bachelor's in Psychology, with a minor in Linguistics, from University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA) and her Master of Arts in Community Counseling from Argosy University - Dallas. With 12+ years of clinical experience, Kristy has helped individuals with grief, trauma, parenting, substance use, domestic violence, and more. Her certifications and qualifications include: Clinical Trauma Professional, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) provider for PTSD, CAMS-II for National Anger Management Association (NAMA), and a member of the National Association of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapists (NACBT). With Kristy's education, clinical experience, and life experience as a widow and a solo parent, she provides a non-judgmental space and two listening ears to process thoughts, feel emotions, and assist with developing a blueprint to keep moving forward. She sees you and hears you - you're NOT alone.
